So it begins!!

Hi to all that are reading this. Thanks for taking the time have a look, but more importantly thanks to my dad for setting this up.

I was a little hesitant about it at first but now I think it is a great way of keeping everyone informed in one go without forcing it upon people like face book would.... and who would of thought it a web page dedicated to me!! (well there are a few out there but this is a much more family orientated one)

Enough of the thanks... well one final one to all my friends and most importantly my family. You are all fantastic and I wouldn't be here without your support and your love.

That's it..... onto the travels!

I find myself in front of a Slovenian computer - with an interesting keyboard layout! I found out that my campsite (Lazer Kamp, Kobarid) has free Internet access and although I had just spent ages trying to rub sun lotion on my back, I thought that this was too good an opportunity to waste.

So you now know where I am but you won´t know how I got here. I will try to keep this brief, and won´t name every road and every wrong turn, of which there has been many!! I normally stop and ask for directions tho on one occasion heading through Belgium, my pronunciation was slightly out and as a result so where there directions!! Only cost me 1.5hrs.... that thought me. Now it is just head down and work it out for myself.

First night I managed to get to Tournai, Belgium
Second night I found myself - St Goar, Belgium/Germany boarder
The Rhine Valley is one of the most scenic routes I have ever been on. If you own a bike get there! If you don't.... do your test. Then get there. It is utterly breath taking!
Third night - Wertach. To get down I was going to head down the romantic road. After 60km I got board. Neither was I feeling romantic or making good time. Don't get me wrong that there are some nice pretty little villages. But I was getting nowhere fast, so it was onto the glamorous Autobahn! I camped at Wertach for two nights, before being kindly put up by Chris and Diana. Thanks to the both of them, it was very kind and although Chris offered to host for longer I felt it was time to move through the alps.

The Alps are flipping fantastic, mental but fantastic! Again get a bike and get here. Hairpin after hairpin, 300 metre drops if you over cook a corner and a vehicle coming the other if you aren't on the right line. It took 320 odd miles but I arrived safe and sound in Korabid 10hrs later - I was shattered and for the third time was feeling a bit motion odd after the bike had stopped rolling.

So that brings you up to speed. Tonight will be my third night in Slovenia, but this camp site has a lot to offer and I believe there is a chance for a swim in the river later.

Slovenia was always going to be the start of the tour, and it is living up to it!

I will try and up load some photos and verbal diaries which will go into more details.

For now tho, take care and until the next time we meet, have fun!
